An act of Kindness
Let me start by telling you a little about it. She told the story of a family who every year did an act of service for Christmas for their father's Christmas present, instead of purchasing something for him. Every Christmas morning the family would wake up to a plain white envelope in the tree. They would all open their gifts and wait until last to open the envelope. This was the most special and precious gift of all. They would open it as a family and would read what act of service was performed in his behalf and anonymously. So for many years this was a tradition in their family. Cut a story short the father passed away years later due to Cancer. His passing was close to the Holidays. The wife was not sure if she could do this service this year. She decided it was a tradition and she wanted it to be carried out. The next morning was Christmas and she woke up to her white envelope and 3 others from her children. I know I am not going into detail, needless to say we were all moved to tears.
I think the story is in a book written by the Chicken Soup guy... Sorry don't know details, but I intend to find out and I will let all of you know.
Then Cari handed all of us a plain white envelope to open. In mine I had 3 different pieces of paper.
1- "You call me Master and Lord: and he say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." John 13:13-15
2. Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light. Albert Schweitzer
3. Do an act of service for a friend, family member or neighbor. Bake cookies, pull weeds, whatever needs to be done!
So I am challenging each of you to perform a small act of service/kindness. It may even be a phone call to someone you have been thinking about, a letter, babysitting for a someone, just say I Love You... or help someone in your own family. I just felt so strongly about this lesson and I intend to help as much as I can.
Love you all...

So You Think You Can Dance
Ride pictures from Disneyland, California Adventure and Universal Studios

and yes I got soaked!!!

Ok- so this was my 2nd time on the ride. The first I wouldn't let my dad get the picture. I had my hand over my heart like I was going to have a heart attack. It was so fun, we took Carter and Carson on it (again by force). Carter did NOT "enjoy" it. Carson Loved it. I will post their picture soon....
Keep checking for updates....

We are home just a quick preview of Disneyland
We went to Disneyland for a half day on Friday when we got to California and when we walked in the gate there was Mickey!!
Ammon was so excited because that is all he wanted to see was "Missy Mouse!"
It was a special treat to have him at the entrance every other time we were there he was hard to find.
We had so much fun, it went way to fast. Back to the grind. More to come when I have time.
Thanks mom, dad, Donald and Heather it was the most magical vacation ever!!

So can you be in love with a Camera?

I got my new Cannon RebelXSI today... Well 250 pictures later... LOVE IT!! Why oh why did I wait so long! My poor family at Disneyland! My other camera bit the dust and is in for repairs, I hope. We needed a camera for the trip and I so wanted a nice one. I have just played around a little this afternoon and I am a maniac. Did I say maniac, I mean Addict!! I will try to post some pictures before we leave tomorrow. We will see if I can figure that out. Anyway take care to all of you out there... We will be back from Disneyland, Sea World, etc... next weekend. Enjoy your days.

Carter's soccor game Thursday Sept. 4, 2008
Carter was on fire!!! He rocked this game. He scored 3 goals, played the entire game in all positions and blocked several goals being a goalie.
I told the coach today at pictures that we are not going to make it to the next 2 games because we are going to Disneyland and he said, "no, Carter you need to miss Disneyland and play soccor !". Carter said, "O.K.".
I think he is getting the hang of it. Good job Carter!
Carson's soccor game on Thursday Sept. 4, 2008
Carson is so cute playing soccor. His little legs just try so hard to run, run, run... plus he was trying to keep his pants from falling down.
The string is broke and slippery pants + little boy = problems.
He did great, we are so proud of him.
P.S. The pictures are not so great, we had to pull out our 6 year old camcorder. Wow a lot has changed in those 6 years...
